Under the shared power of the Kanohi Kakama Nuva, it wasn’t long before the Toa slowed to a stop, on the border between Po-Wahi and Le-Wahi. In the canyon below, all six Rahkshi were wreaking havoc and mayhem, destroying the natural scenery of the region and sending stones and debris flying. Under the Lerahk’s power, a nearby shrub withered and died.
“I’m so done-tired with these guys,” Lewa said, swooping in and knocking the Rahkshi off the path.
Riding his Quake-Breakers into the valley, Onua pummeled the Vohrahk, only for it to turn and begin leeching off his powers.
“They can’t take a hint, can they?” he grunted.
Spotting a trusty boulder to the side, Pohatu poised to send it flying in the direction of the Rahkshi. But then he spotted Tahu not far to the side, looking for an opportunity to attack their opponents.
Pohatu frowned. After all the fighting between Tahu and everyone else, maybe it was time the Toa of Fire got what was coming to him.
Tahu himself was starting to feel rage well up out of nowhere when the Pohatu’s boulder found its mark, nearly knocking him flat into the dirt. He whirled on the Toa of Stone in shock and fury. “Watch where you’re kicking, Pohatu!” he snarled.
“Stop getting in the way of my feet,” the Toa of Stone snapped, advancing on him.
“Enough!” Gali roared. Blocking Turahk’s staff, she slammed her axes into the earth, and summoned every bit of moisture from the air, as well as summoning her own. “It’s time to end this!”
With a roar, the torrent erupted from her axes, decimating the surrounding landscape, and sending the Rahkshi flying.
She stood to follow up the attack, but to her shock, the Rahkshi weren’t retaliating. Instead, the Panrahk, Turahk, and Kurahk had made a break for a pass along Mount Ihu while the other three elected for an underground passage.
“Onua and Pohatu. Pursue those three into the tunnels,” Tahu ordered. “Gali, scout ahead and see if you can locate the Matoran. Lewa, Kopaka, and I will take the Ihu pass to Le-Wahi. We will stop the Rahkshi in their tracks.”
“Is it wise to split up like this?” asked Onua. “We have only succeeded when united.
“I… I agree…” Tahu said.
At this, even Kopaka did a double take. The sentiment was much unlike the Toa of Fire of late. But after Kopaka’s recent run-in with the six Rahkshi, he didn’t feel compelled to argue.
“We will be reunited once the Chronicler and the Herald are found,” Tahu continued. “But with their location unknown, we cannot risk one group finding them while we defeat the other.”
“Very well,” Pohatu said, starting toward the Onu-Koro highway. “And let’s hope it won’t be the other way around.”
